Iran and Serbia Commit to Enhanced Collaboration

In a recent meeting in Belgrade, the Ministers of Communications from Iran and Serbia underscored their commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation in technology, communication infrastructure, and the digital economy. Iran and Serbia Commit to Enhanced Collaboration

Seyed Sattar Hashemi, Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and his Serbian counterpart, Djan Ristich, engaged in discussions addressing avenues for developing mutual relations and achieving the goals outlined in their joint memorandum of understanding.

Hashemi emphasized the importance of enhancing communication infrastructure—particularly fiber optic networks and cloud data centers—as key drivers for advancing the digital economy. He asserted that robust communication infrastructure is essential for successfully implementing e-government initiatives and fostering startups.

The Iranian Minister also highlighted the necessity of improving postal and data transit collaboration, noting that such measures would facilitate services for citizens in both countries and contribute to sustainable relations.

Ristich echoed these sentiments, stressing the importance of cross-border cooperation in data and postal services. He declared that enhancing data transit and postal services lays the groundwork for realizing both the digital economy and e-government.

Calling the signing of a joint memorandum on investment in technology research and development a gateway to innovation, Hashemi stated that these partnerships would foster collaborative scientific projects and develop advanced technologies, yielding mutual benefits for both nations.

Ristich affirmed that the development of communication infrastructure, including fiber optics and cloud data centers, is vital for enhancing service quality and strengthening the strategic ties between Tehran and Belgrade.
