Iran and Serbia Pursue Implementation of ICT Agreements

Tehran, Iran – Following the recent visit of Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology to Serbia, officials from both countries convened in a joint virtual meeting to discuss the implementation of agreements and further strengthen Iran and Serbia Pursue Implementation of  ICT Agreements

The meeting, held on Monday, April 8th, involved deputies and advisors from the Iranian and Serbian Ministries of Communications and Information Technology. The discussions centered around the outcomes of Minister Hashemi's official visit to Belgrade last March.

According to the Ministry of Communications' Public Relations and Information Center, the virtual session focused on key areas of cooperation including international data transit, information security, enhancing collaboration within the private sector, and organizing specialized meetings between economic and technological stakeholders from both nations.

Recognizing the significant potential within the digital economy, both sides emphasized the necessity of facilitating direct interactions between private companies, establishing joint infrastructure for data transit and secure information exchange, and leveraging each other's expertise in areas such as innovation, artificial intelligence, cloud services, and the platform economy.

Joint Expert Working Group Established

As a concrete step forward, it was agreed to establish joint specialized working groups composed of representatives from both governmental bodies and the private sector. These working groups will be responsible for developing a roadmap for future cooperation and identifying viable projects for bilateral implementation.

This meeting represents a significant step in pursuing "technology diplomacy" and deepening relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and its allies in the digital economy and information technology sectors. It underscores the commitment of both countries to elevate constructive and sustainable engagement in this vital domain.
