Geneva, Switzerland – April 8, 2025-Representing Iran at the international forum, Sadr detailed the nation's efforts in-   navigating the digital landscape, emphasizing its strategic shift towards a knowledge-based economy and away from reliance on oil revenues.

Sadr addressed the "Diversifying Economies in the Hyper-Digital World" panel, highlighting significant infrastructural achievements in bridging the digital divide within Iran, particularly through connecting rural and remote areas.

"Digital transformation is not merely a technological shift, but a structural one," Sadr stated, emphasizing the country's commitment to fostering innovation, encouraging entrepreneurship, and investing in national communication infrastructure. This includes active support for knowledge-based companies specializing in areas such as artificial intelligence, fintech, digital health, and smart agriculture.

Acknowledging existing challenges, Sadr cited the persistent digital gap between urban and rural areas, limited access to global markets due to sanctions and communication barriers, and the ongoing need for regulatory reform and workforce training to keep pace with emerging technologies.

He underscored the importance of international collaboration and the detrimental effects of unilateralism, stating, "No single country can leverage the full potential of the  digital economy alone. We welcome participation in areas such as digital empowerment, data governance, and the ethics of artificial intelligence."

Sadr concluded by reiterating Iran's commitment to fostering international partnerships to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the increasingly digital world. The CSTD meeting serves as a key platform for nations to share best practices and collaborate on strategies for leveraging technology for sustainable development.
