According to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's Public Relations and Information Center, the visit, at the invitation of the Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology, includes a comprehensive agenda. "We have planned numerous activities for this trip, including meetings and discussions with my Chinese counterpart and other officials in the communications and industries sector, as well as visits to leading Chinese universities and industrial centers," Minister Hashemi stated.

Highlighting China's advancements in cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, AI, and industrial automation, Minister Hashemi explained, "Our goal is to utilize China's technological capabilities for the smart automation of industries, particularly in the electricity, oil, and gas sectors, and to enhance efficiency across other industrial sectors in our country."

The Minister, a member of the 14th Cabinet, identified the follow-up on agreements signed between Iran and China in recent years as another crucial aspect of the visit. "Strategic engagement with China, particularly in the field of information technology, can significantly contribute to economic growth and the development of our country's digital economy," he added.

Underscoring the plans and mandates defined for the Ministry of Communications in this area, Hashemi noted, "Currently, Iranian-Chinese cooperation in the technology sector is at a satisfactory level, but there is further potential to be harnessed through strengthening bilateral interactions."

He also identified smart city development, smartening various sectors, expanding communication infrastructure, managing energy consumption, AI, and data processing infrastructures as critical national needs and key areas for collaboration between Iran and China. "These interactions have started off very positively, and we are optimistic that they will yield favorable outcomes for our country," he concluded.

Minister Visits Key Communication, Science, and Technology Centers in China

On the first day of his working visit, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology visited major and significant scientific, technological, and innovation centers in China. These visits included technology parks, specialized exhibitions, and digital innovation hubs, including Z Park. Minister Hashemi gained firsthand insights into the activities, capabilities, and technological projects underway in China.

The Minister's visit to China is taking place at the formal invitation of the Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology, and is in line with the strategic policies of the 14th government's Ministry of Communications in fostering technological relations with friendly nations within the framework of the "Technology Diplomacy" program.

Throughout the visit, meetings with senior Chinese government officials, specialized sessions with executives of major technology companies, and visits to scientific and research institutions are planned for the Minister.
