Iran and Cuba Team Up to Boost Their Tech and Postal Services
The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Cuba have signed an Action Plan to boost their collaboration in the fields of information and communication technologies (ICT) and postal services. The agreement was signed in the presence of the presidents of both countries at the Saad Abad complex.
The Action Plan is based on a Memorandum of Understanding that was signed earlier this year between the Ministry of Communications of Cuba and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Iran.
The main goal of the agreement is to share knowledge and experiences, and to foster closer bilateral relations in various domains.
According to the agreement, the two countries will cooperate in key areas such as electronic government, healthcare platforms, agriculture, education, remote sensing, disaster prevention, regulation, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and smart government.
The Action Plan also includes provisions for commercializing products, especially in the sectors of infrastructure, telecommunications, and fiber optic equipment. Both countries also intend to organize joint events and participate in specialized exhibitions, as well as to collaborate in international forums and to improve cooperation in the field of postal services.
The specific details of the Action Plan will be determined by the joint ICT committee, which will ensure a comprehensive and effective implementation of the agreement.
This collaboration between Iran and Cuba represents a significant step towards advancing technological development, promoting bilateral trade, and strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
