According to the public relations department of Iran’s Information Technology Organization, the first session on tech-cooperation between the two countries happened through an online meeting between Dr. Khansari, the head of Iran's Information Technology Organization, and Cuba's deputy minister of communications, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding and a joint action plan earlier this year.
Dr. Khansari expressed Iran's willingness to share its experiences in e-government and smart government with Cuba, and highlighted the history of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including vaccine production during the Covid pandemic. He also expressed Iran's interest in starting serious cooperation in the field of knowledge and technology transfer.
Javad Movahhed, Iran's Information Technology Organization deputy of e-government, provided an overview of e-government and smart government projects in Iran, including the Unified Window of Smart Government, The National Portal of Licenses, The National Center for Information Exchange, and the Land Management Window. He also mentioned some of the remarkable achievements in those projects.
The Cubans appreciated the meeting and expressed their interest in utilizing Iran’s experiences and Iranian leading companies in smart government and education.
