Seyed Sattar Hashemi emphasized the development and deepening of joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of communications and modern information technologies during an Online meeting with the Minister of Communications of Cuba. According to the PR Center of the Ministry of ICT, Seyed Sattar Hashemi, in a bilateral video call, discussed and exchanged views with "Mayra Aruich Marin," the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Cuba. In this virtual meeting, Hashemi emphasized the necessity of reviewing previous memorandums of understanding and agreements, as well as the signed cooperation documents between Tehran and Havana in the field of communications and information technology. He called for the implementation of these programs and the transformation of the signed documents into a cooperation agreement and a joint operational plan.

Hashemi emphasized that, in line with joint interactions, Iranian private companies active in the field of communication equipment and information technology are ready for active participation in Cuba, and it is expected that the necessary executive actions for this purpose will be carried out swiftly.

 

The increase in cooperation between Iran and Cuba in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital economy, new businesses, e-government, and postal collaborations was one of the topics discussed in the video conversation between the communications ministers of Iran and Cuba.

 Myra Aruvich Marin, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Cuba, also congratulated in this discussion the appointment of Seyed Sattar Hashemi as Iran's Minister of Communications. She emphasized the need to strengthen ties between the two countries in various fields, especially in communications and technology.

 

She also emphasized the development of cooperation based on the documents previously signed between the two countries and welcomed the active participation of Iranian private companies in the field of communication equipment and information technology in Cuba. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Cuba officially invited Seyed Sattar Hashemi to visit Cuba and participate in the 40th Havana International Fair as well as the 19th meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Tehran and Havana.

 

Hashemi also expressed gratitude for the invitation from his Cuban counterpart to visit the country and noted the readiness of Iranian companies to participate in the 40th Havana International Fair, stating that participation in this fair could provide the necessary grounds for joint cooperation in other areas of activity between the two countries.

He pointed to the abundant capacities of the two countries in various fields, including communications and information technology, and expressed readiness to further enhance cooperation with Cuba and to be actively involved in the joint economic cooperation commission. Hashemi added that in this regard, we will make every effort to utilize the potential of the joint commission and to have an active and impactful presence at the Havana International Exhibition to create new opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation.
