Syed Starr Hashemi arrived in Havana, the capital of Cuba
Iran’s communications & IT minister in the second part of his trip to two Latin American countries arrived in Havana, the capital of Cuba, on Saturday evening local time (Sunday morning Tehran time) and was welcomed by high-ranking Cuban officials .
Seyyed Starr Hashemi, who arrived in Cuba at the head of a delegation, had previously gone to Caracas on a two-day trip and met and talked with four cabinet ministers, including communications, science, energy, and transportation. The signing of cooperation documents and a contract to establish a fiber optic production factory are among the important achievements of this trip.
After Venezuela, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology traveled to Cuba to expand technical, telecommunications, and postal cooperation with Caribbean countries and is scheduled to meet and talk with the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Iran-Cuba Joint Commission, the Minister of Trade and Foreign Investment in Havana.
It is also planned that during Seyed Star Hashemi's two-day visit to Cuba, a memorandum of understanding on postal cooperation between Tehran and Havana will be signed, which could significantly increase the volume of postal exchanges between the two countries.
Hashemi’s other plans during his trip to Cuba include visiting the 40th International Exhibition of Information and Communication Technology in Havana, the Havana Science and Technology Park, and the country’s Mariel Economic Zone.
