Mohammad Mohsen Sadr, deputy minister and the head of Information Technology Organization of Iran, and Mohammad Saud Al-Tamimi, the head of the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) of Saudi Arabia, emphasized the expansion of cooperation and the exchange of experiences in various fields during a bilateral meeting in Riyadh.
According to the public relations of Information Technology Organization of Iran , on the sidelines of the Iranian Information Technology Organization head's participation in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Saud Al-Tamimi and Mohammad Mohsen Sadr met. During this meeting, both sides expressed their willingness to expand cooperation in the field of communications and information technology and discussed the existing capacities in this area. Topics such as the use of mutual infrastructures, the exchange of experiences regarding domestic IT platforms and messaging services, the expansion of postal cooperation, fiber optics, defining joint projects in artificial intelligence, and ultimately joint activities in the field of startups and knowledge-based information technology businesses were among the main points of discussion. Additionally, the meeting emphasized utilizing the capacities and capabilities of Iranian private sector companies in large ICT projects in Saudi Arabia.
In this regard, both parties agreed to pursue the mentioned matters within the framework of a joint memorandum of understanding.
The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is held annually by the United Nations to discuss issues related to internet governance, with representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors participating.
